Master of Inclusive Education Program - Round 3

The Department of Education and Training (DET) provides scholarships to Victorian government school teachers and eligible DET staff to undertake VIT-endorsed masters courses in inclusive education and applied behaviour analysis.

Before you begin

Eligibility

Before you begin to complete the application form, please ensure that you are eligible to apply for a scholarship. To be eligible, you must

  • be i) currently employed as a teacher in a Victorian government school or ii) employed by the Victorian Department of Education and Training (Visiting Teacher, Student Support Service staff, Koorie Engagement Support Officer).
  • meet the entry requirements for your chosen course
  • commence your chosen course in Semester 2 2019 (applicants for Deakin University may commence their course in Trimester 3 (November), 2019)
  • be willing and able to complete your chosen course, including the practicum placement requirement, within four years
  • provide evidence that your Principal/Manager supports your application and agrees to release you for the required number of practicum placement days (up to 45 days)
  • not be the recipient of other scholarships for your chosen course.

Completing your application

To complete your application, you will need to submit:

  • a completed application form (see Using the application form below)
  • a Personal Statement, outlining why you are applying for a scholarship and how you intend to use the knowledge and skills gained through completing your chosen course.
  • a letter or other document, signed by your Principal/Manager (e.g. a letter on school letterhead), outlining the reasons why they support your scholarship application and are aware of the requirements of your chosen course. This document must indicate that your Principal/Manager is aware of your chosen course's practicum requirements, and agrees to release you for the required number of practicum placement days (except where the application is for the Master of Education (Applied Behaviour Analysis) at Monash University).

It will not be possible to submit your application until you have attached all of the required documentation.

You may begin anywhere in this application form. Please ensure you save your application regularly as you complete the form.

On every screen (page of the form) you will find a Form Navigation pane; use the links in this pane to move directly to the page you want.

You can also click 'next page' or 'previous page' on the top or bottom of each page to move forward or backward through the application.

Saving your draft application

If you want to leave your application before you are ready to submit it, ensure you select the 'Save and Close' or 'Save' button before you log out. When you log back in and click on the 'My Submissions' link at the top of the screen, you will find a list of any applications you have started or submitted. You can reopen your draft application and start where you left off.

You can also download any application, whether draft or completed, as a PDF. Click on the 'Download' button located at the bottom of the last page of the application form.

Submitting your application

You will find a Review and Submit button at the bottom of the Navigation Panel. You will need to review your application before you can submit it.

Once you have reviewed your application and are ready to submit it, select 'Submit' at the top of the screen or on the navigation panel. You will not be able to submit your application until the compulsory questions are completed.

To complete your application, you will need to upload some documents, such as evidence that you are enrolled in your chosen course. You may also submit any additional documentation that you believe supports your application. You may upload documents up to 25MB each.

When you submit your application, you will receive an automated confirmation email with a copy of your submitted application attached. This will be sent to the email you used to register.

If you have submitted your application, but have not received a confirmation email, please email inclusive.ed.grants@edumail.vic.gov.au to check if your application has been received.

Submitting Additional Documentation

Once you have submitted your application, you will not be able to change your application or submit any additional documentation through SmartyGrants. If you have submitted your application and wish to submit additional documentation, you may do so by emailing inclusive.ed.grants@edumail.vic.gov.au (ensuring you quote your application number) at any time until the closing date (Sunday 2 June 2019).
